WEB Law Firm Sued Over Diverse Law Student Hiring Program

By Stacey Shrader Joslin on May 15

A lawsuit was filed against a law firm that allegedly discriminated against diverse law students in its hiring practices.

The complaint alleges that the firm, WEB Law Firm, violated Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 by intentionally discriminating against Black, Latinx, and women law students. The lawsuit also alleges that the firm retaliated against law students who complained about the discrimination.

The lawsuit was filed by the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) on behalf of four law students who were allegedly discriminated against by WEB Law Firm. The students claim that they were denied jobs at the firm because of their race and gender.

WEB Law Firm has denied the allegations in the lawsuit. The firm said it does not discriminate against any person based on race, gender, or national origin.

The lawsuit is currently pending in federal court.
